Fort Madison Hires Soccer Coach
FORT MADISON - Fort Madison Athletic Director Jeremy Swink announced Thursday the school has hired Carrie Burken as the next varsity girls soccer coach. Burken had been the assistant under Sebastian Seifert for the past four years since the program restarted. She has also been an assistant for several other sports and is a teacher in the district. Seifert resigned from the district this month.

Central Lee 7th graders win
DONNELLSON - The Central Lee boys 7th grade basketball team won 45-13 over Cardinal on Feb. 12. Brody Moeller had 15 points and five rebounds for the Hawks. Will Hayes had 13 points and four rebounds. Owen Swan had five, Brant Kraciun scored four points, and hauled in eight boards. Carter Ellingboe had three points, while Ward Fraise and Frankie Jenkins each had two.
The Hawks are 6-2 on the year.

Fort Madison 8th graders win thriller
FORT MADISON - Fort Madison's 8th grade boys basketball team beat Burlington 40-38 in triple overtime last week.
Dayton Lamar has 11 points and Julian Dear had 10 to lead Fort Madison. Aiden Mitchell scored nine, while Justin Maither had six, Caden Barnes scored 4, Jackson Guzman had two.
The B Team lost 13-8 in a half. Kaleb Heidbreder had four points. Hunter Cook and Noah Swigart each had two in the loss.

Holy Trinity boys win
HOLY TRINITY - Adam Sobczak and Luke Hellige combined for 29 to lead the HTC 8th graders to a 44-35 win over Van Buren County Tuesday night. Sobczak led the Crusaders with 15 in the win.
The Crusaders 7th graders won 40-14 over Van Buren County. Layne Rung had 14 points and Jameson Denning had eight in the win. Nathan Box chipped in with seven points.
