Democrats hold Caucus Thursday with speaker

Posted

KEOKUK - The Lee County Democratic Party will hold its Odd-Year Caucus in conjunction with its March meeting on Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m., at the Keokuk Labor Temple, 301 Blondeau Street, Keokuk.

The guest speaker will be Al Womble, the Chair of the Iowa Democratic Party Black Constituency Caucus and the State Director for New Frontier Action.

WOMBLE

Womble has been an activist in Democratic politics for many years, as well as in worker and union rights, and social justice issues.

The meeting and Caucus will be the preliminary step for the Lee County Democratic Party in a process to be continued at the organizational meeting on March 27th at the Donnellson American Legion Hall.

People will be asked to sign in at the door so they can be included in future events. We encourage Democrats and Democratic leaning individuals from throughout the county to attend. Residents of Lee County may also register as Democrats at the caucus.

Masks are required. The space is large enough to allow social distancing. If you have any questions, please contact the chair, Mary Jo Riesberg, at 319-526-3160.
