LEE COUNTY - For the past several weeks the Lee County Health Department has been working on vaccinating those on their 65 and over list which was around 4,000.

They will shortly begin the process to start opening it up to those who are 64 and under with certain underlying medical conditions.

For those who are 65 and over, if you have not received a call from LCHD to get scheduled or want to have your name put on the list to be scheduled please call by Friday, March 19, 2021.

After that no new names will be added to the list. Once LCHD has finished scheduling those, an announcement will be made to begin scheduling those 64 and under with certain underlying medical conditions. Please continue to watch the LCHD website, Facebook page, and media for that announcement.

LCHD wants to remind the public that it is critical to continue to practice mitigation measures to help slow the spread of COVID-19 – wear a mask or face covering, practice social distancing with those outside your household, clean your hands frequently with soap and water, stay home if you feel sick, get tested if you are exposed to or have symptoms of COVID-19, and get your COVID-19 vaccine when you are eligible.
