Barr Memorial Chapel obituary - Charles F. Trotter, 83, Fort Madison

Charles Fredrick “Bud” Trotter, 83 years, of  Fort Madison, Iowa died at 12:32 pm Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa.  He was born December 9, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa, a son of Charles L and Margaret (Hussman) Trotter.   He married Dixie Lee Owens.  She preceded him in death.   On October 8, 1999, he married Judith (Swanson) Heincy.  She survives.

Charles served in the United States Air Force.  He worked as an inspector at the Ordinance Plant (IAAP).  He enjoyed fishing and was a commercial fisherman for years.  He was a amateur radio operator and was known by his call sign, NW0X.  He was also a beekeeper for a period of time.  

He is survived by his wife, Judith Trotter of Fort Madison, Iowa;  two daughters: Gwendolyn Nichols of West Burlington, Iowa and Dawn Trotter of Council Bluff, Iowa; four step-children: Cathy (Ken) Noblet, Gary Jr. (Lorna) Heincy, Scott Heincy, and Michelle (Dave) Jones; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and one step-great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dixie Lee, one brother Richard, and one sister Phyllis.
