LEE COUNTY - Lee County Conservation Board and Three Rivers Conservation Foundation seek volunteers to help construct a new playground at Pollmiller Park. The construction will occur from Tuesday, April 20th to Friday, April 23rd.

“We are really excited to install this new playground - it is going to be a great addition to Pollmiller Park, especially for families. We look forward to having community members join us on this fun project," said Tom Pollpeter, Three Rivers Conservation Foundation President.

Volunteers can choose from several four-hour time slots throughout the week and will help with a variety of construction tasks including building the playground structures, lifting and placing equipment pieces, etc. Volunteers should dress for the weather and wear comfortable footwear. The Three Rivers Conservation Foundation will provide water, soft drinks, and snacks for all volunteers.Masks will be encouraged due to COVID-19.

Nathan Unsworth, Lee County Conservation Director, says, “We hope people will join us for this exciting volunteer opportunity. This is a large project, and we would like to have about 15 people per time slot. We are also partnering with the United Way of the Great River Region and AmeriCorps Seniors to recruit volunteers.”
