50th Mick Pickford Tournament Sunday

FORT MADISON – The 50th Annual Mick Pickford Freestyle/Greco Tournament is being held this Sunday at Fort Madison High School.

The event sponsored by the Pickford Wrestling Club features seven divisions including a open division for those out of high school. There will also be a possible female bracket if there is enough interest.

Entry fee is $10 for Greco tournament and $20 for the freestyle for those pre-registered at trackwrestling by Saturday at 10 p.m. The fee goes to $20 for the Greco event and $30 for the freestyle at the door.

A USA wrestling care is required and can be purchased at usawmembership.com

Weigh-ins for all classes will take place in the Fort Madison High School Wrestling Room on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8:30 for Greco, and from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m for the Freestyle.

The tournament will be governed by the 2021 International Freestyle/Greco Rules. Membership in USA Wrestling is mandatory to participate.

A commemorative Mick Pickford crewneck sweater will be awarded to the champion of each freestyle weight class. Medals will also be awarded for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at each weight class.
