KEOKUK – Holy Trinity duo Trevor Mohrfeld and Tyler Snaadt shot a 90 in a two-person best ball format at the Keokuk Invitational Wednesday at the Elks Country Club.
The two were tied for the lead in the five-school individual and best-ball event after nine holes with Notre Dame’s Matt Johnson and Carson Jones at 11 over. Johnson and Carson carded a birdie 2 on the par 3 12th hole to take the lead, while the Mohrfeld and Snaadt bogied the same hole, which ended up being the difference for the top spot.
Fort Madison’s Hunter Cresswell and Michael Hollister shot a 94, including a second-best 12 over on the front nine. Jordan Simpson and Gavin Wiseman shot a 111.
Tyler Wade shot a 92 in the individual contest which was fourth best on the day. Seth Mendez carded at 101 for the Bloodhounds. Colby Bredemeyer shot a 108 for HTC.
On Tuesday, Holy Trinity’s Ali Robu took 3rd place overall in six-team event hosted by Burlington Notre Dame.
Robu shot a 90 over 18 holes just a shot back from Burlington’s Lauren Briggs and three off the pace of New London’s Taylor Phillips who shot an 86.
