Wanda Lee Baugher, 89 of Burlington, IA formerly of Keokuk, IA died Sunday, April 18, 2021at River Hills Village in Keokuk.

     She was born September 26, 1931 in La Harpe, IL, the daughter of Arlie L. and Gladys Rhea Smith.  Her father was killed in WW II and she was raised by her mother and step-father, William Briley.  Wanda graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1949.

     On December 24, 1958 she was united in marriage to James Earl Baugher in Kahoka, MO.  He preceded her in death on March 22, 2013.

She is survived by one son, Steven Baugher, one daughter, Denise (Jeff) Wharton,two grandsons, Jason (Danica) Wharton and Aaron Wharton, two great-grandchildren, Ronan James Wharton and Eve Marie Wharton and Eve’s mother Victoria Alvardo all of Burlington, IA. She is also survived by one half-brother, Bill (Sonny) Briley, two half-sisters, Liz (Rodger) Newberry and Dorothy (Rich) Burrell, very special cousin, Ned (Patty) Rhea all of Keokuk and other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

     Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her father, mother and step-father, sister, Betty McGeHee, and half-brother, John Briley and in-laws.

     A private graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, in the Keokuk National Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Bixby officiating.  Family and friends are invited to the Family Worship Center, 2439 Belknap Blvd, following the graveside service. 

     In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association, the Lung Association or to Donor’s Choice.
