LEE COUNTY - A Saturday evening rollover involving a 4-wheel utility vehicle resulted in two people being sent to area hospitals.

According to reports from the Lee County Sheriff's office, deputies responded to the 2600 block of 160th Avenue at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday where the UTV driven by Todd Edward Daughters, 49, of Fort Madison lost control when the vehicle left the roadway, entered a ditch and became airborne flipping end over end, coming to rest on its wheels.

A passenger in the vehicle, Machelle Renee Pezley, 50, of Fort Madison, was ejected from the vehicle and found by deputies unconscious south of the UTV's final resting spot.

Pezley was taken by AirEvac to Iowa City for injuries she sustained in the accident. Daughters was taken by deputies to Fort Madison Community Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation and further charges could be forthcoming.
