Wade takes 7th at Washington Invite

WASHINGTON - Fort Madison's Tyler Wade shot an 89 at Washington Golf Club good enough for seventh place overall at the five-team invitational made up Southeast Conference Schools.

Roman Roth of Washington carded a 76 for medalist honors including a 1-over 36 on the front nine. Mt. Pleasant's Nick Mathe shot an 80 for runner-up honors.

Mt. Pleasant's top four shot a combined 349 to win the team portion of the event. Washington was second with 354. Fort Madison came in 5th with a 416.

Wade shot a 42 front nine and 47 back including a birdie 3 to start on Hole 1. Two double bogeys at holes 3 and 4 killed the momentum and 4-over 7 on the par 3 11th knocked him out of contention.

The Bloodhounds Seth Mendez shot at 100, with a 47 front and 53 back. Jordan Simpson shot a 105, While Emmett Kruse rounded out the Hounds scoring with a 122. Michael Hollister didn't figure in the team scores but shot a 135.

Simpson shot a 47 in a nine-hole dual meet at Sheaffer on Monday night with Washington. Roth again took medalist honors with a 40. Roth birdied the par 5s at No. 1 and No. 3 to get off to a good start.

Tyler Wade and Emmett Kruse both fired 51s for the Hounds. Gavin Wiseman and Hunter Cresswell each carded a 54. Hollister came in with a 69 for a team total of 203.

Washington won the dual with a 182 team score.
