HTC boys 4, girls 7th at New London

NEW LONDON - The Holy Trinity Catholic junior high boys put up 59 points en route to a 4th-place finish at New London Thursday night.

West Burlington won the meet with 131.6 points.

Adam Sobczak led the way with a 15.58 mark in the 100-meter hurdles. He also captured first in the 200-meter hurdles with a 28.73. Sobczak just missed winning the long jump by 1.6 inches with a 16-04" leap.

Nathan Box was third in the discuss with a spin of 86-8". Luke Hellige was fourth with an 85-7.25". Hellige was also fourth in the shot put at 31-8". Tate Green took 4th in 1600 at 5:56.94.

The 4x200 relay team of Box, Hellige, Cade Goodrich and Sobczak took 4th with a time of 1:56.30.

The HTC girls finished in 7th with 21 points. West Burlington won the girls meet with 178 points.

Ellie Lake had the highest finish on the night for the Lady Crusaders with a 68-5.5" throw in the discuss good enough for 2nd place.

The 800 sprint medley team of Isabella Wheatley-Behne, Sarah Menke, Lia Fullenkamp and McKayla Schinstock placed 3rd with a time of 2:21.86. The 4x200 team of Lake, Wheatley-Behne, Schinstock and Fullenkamp placed 4th at 2:17.16.
