LEE COUNTY - Lee County Health Department will be hosting several COVID-19 vaccine clinics throughout the month of May and encourages all individuals that are age eligible to get fully vaccinated if they haven’t already. Clinics scheduled in May will be either a community “pop-up” clinic at a specific location or a drive-thru clinic.

The community pop-up clinic schedule currently is May 12th from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at the Fort Madison Food Pantry and May 13th from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at the West Point Public Library.  Along with the LCHD Immunization Clinics on May 13th from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm at the Trinity Methodist Church in Keokuk, and May 27th from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm at LCHD.  The pop-up and immunization clinics will only have the Johnson and Johnson vaccine available.  Future pop-up clinics will be posted to the LCHD website and Facebook page.

The drive-thru clinic schedule is May 18th from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at the First Christian Church in Keokuk, and May 22nd from 8:00 am-Noon at LCHD in Fort Madison.  The drive-thru clinics will have both the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccine available.

All the clinics are free and open to those who are 18 years of age and older. No appointments are necessary.

“While continuing to offer a drive-thru option for people, we wanted to shift our focus to working with our community partners and volunteers on a smaller scale to offer vaccines at convenient locations where people live nearby or can easily access. We will be working together in surrounding communities to vaccinate as many people we can- especially those who have not had the opportunity to do so yet.” states Michele Ross, LCHD Administrator.  “Our goal is to remove any barriers or obstacles people may have that prevents them from choosing to be vaccinated. We encourage anyone who is having difficulty to contact our office”.

LCHD continues to offer an in-house clinic on Fridays through May 21st, and starting on May 26th they will be moved to Wednesdays.  The in-house clinics are at the LCHD offices, and an appointment is required.  For a full listing of the LCHD COVID vaccine clinic schedule visit www.leecountyhd.org or like them on Facebook
