Hannum helps FM to three conference titles; McGowan wins long jump

KEOKUK - Garrett Hannum captured the Southeast Conference title in the 400 hurdles and ran title legs in the 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams to lead the Bloodhounds to a 2nd-place finish in the Southeast Conference track meet at Keokuk Thursday night.

Hannum edged fellow Hound Macaden Rhoer by .18 seconds for a 1-2 finish in the 400 hurdles, both breaking the 1 minute mark with 59.42 and 59.60 marks respectively.

The Hounds Jakob McGowan passed the 20-foot mark again winning the long jump with a leap of 20.4.5". His longest on the year is 20-11". Fort Madison's Mikey DiPrima took 2nd with a leap of 19-11.5", his longest jump of the season.

The 4x200 team of Brock Califf, McGowan, Andrew Schaefer and Hannum finished with a time of 1:34.10, .10 ahead of Burlington. The 4x400 team of Califf, Hannum, Schaefer and Dayton Davis took the title at 3:32.70.

The Hounds finished with 130 points. Washington won the team title with 162 points.

Fort Madison also saw the return of junior Tate Johnson who has been out since the third week of the season with an injury. Johnson was a whisper of taking the conference title in the 100-meter dash posting an 11:04, .01 off Burlington's Bryant Williams mark of 11.03.

Dayton Davis raced to a runner-up spot in the 400-meter dash at 52.50. Gavin Wiseman was 4th at 57.90. Davis was also 3rd in the 110 high hurdles. Rhoer was fourth.

The Hounds shuttle hurdle relay team of Rhoer, Henry Wiseman, Kane Williams and Hayden Segoviano took 2nd place with a time of 1:09.70. Ethan Deacon had the other 2nd place finish for Fort Madison with a 47-6.75" heave in the shot put.

The girls shuttle hurdle team of Reyna Lampe, Taylor Barnes, Aija Jenkins and Chloe Sokolik had the best finish for the Lady Hounds with a time of 1:13.20

Paetyn Wiegand took fourth place in the 1500 and 3000 meter runs at 5:39.90 and 12:27.22.

Fort Madison girls had nine other top five finishes, to finish 6th with 50.5 points. Fairfield won the ladies conference title with 198 points.
