Lee County Democrats award scholarships

LEE COUNTY - The Lee County Democratic Party awarded scholarships to four graduating seniors from Lee County high schools this year. Each scholarship is in the amount of $500.00.

The scholarships reinforce the Lee County Democratic Party’s commitment to higher education, and the goal that education be available and affordable to everyone.

Applications were received from students at Central Lee High School, Fort Madison High School, Holy Trinity High School, and Keokuk High School. The scholarships can be used at any four-year college or university, community college, or trade/technical school.

The recipients, their high school, and the school they plan on attending are as follows:Tristyn O’Connor - Keokuk High School, The University of Iowa; Nadia Boeding - Fort Madison High School, The University of Iowa; Ava Peltz - Holy Trinity High School, The University of Iowa; Hailey Tweedy - Central Lee High School, University of Missouri – ColumbiaThe Lee County Democratic Party thanks all of the students who applied and congratulates the recipients.
