James Garrett “Jim” Rosenboom, 89, of Lomax, Illinois passed away at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at his home.
Jim was born on May 13, 1932 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Garrett and Hazel (DeKraai) Rosenboom. On November 26, 1955 he married Phyllis Morgan in Lovilia, Iowa. She preceded him in death on December 29, 1999.
Jim served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of the Carthage VFW.

Following his military service Jim worked for Case in Burlington for 28 years.
He enjoyed playing cards and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include one son: Kevin (Jeanne) Rosenboom of LaHarpe; two granddaughters: Misty Nance and Chasity Augilar and four great-grandchildren: Chelsea, Coby, Rileigh and Breanna.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Phyllis; one son: Dennis and two brothers, Earl and Marvin Rosenboom.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Pastor Jim Luder officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow in the Crane Cemetery, near Lomax.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
