Anna Marie Underwood, 94 years, formerly of Fort Madison, Iowa died Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  She was born February 22, 1927, a daughter of Dale and Elizabeth (Pollmiller) Gardner.  On February 5, 1955, she married Charles Edward Underwood in Fort Madison, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on January 13, 2015.  

Anna Marie was a mother and homemaker.  She raised six children.  Later she worked at Blue Bell Day Care.  She was a member of Holy Family Parish and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). 

She is survived by two sons, Mark Underwood of Nevada, Iowa and Edward (Ginny) Underwood of Winfield, Illinois; three daughters: Connie Williams of Happy Valley, Oregon; Susan Shultz of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Amy Saldeen (Don Gore) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren: Erica (Roger) Bly; Elizabeth (Andrew) Koshatka; Briana Clark; Nathan Underwood, Logan Underwood, and Kailey Underwood and seven great grandchildren: Danielle, William, John, Madelyn, Alexander, Nathan, and James.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Michael Underwood, and one brother James Gardner.  

Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 am Monday, June 28, 2021 at Ss. Mary & Joseph Catholic Church, Holy Family Parish, Fort Madison, Iowa.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow and begin at 10:30 am Monday, June 28, 2021 with Reverend Joseph Phung as Celebrant.  Burial will be at Soldiers Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.  A memorial has been established, contributions may be left at the church or at Barr Memorial Chapel.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Underwood Family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
