Yula Mae Meyer, 83, of Montrose, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Montrose Health Center in Montrose, Iowa.

Yula Mae was born on January 5, 1938, in Worthington, Minnesota, the daughter of Martin Otto and Lillian Mary (Leckband) Haack. In October of 1966, she was united in marriage to Donald G. Meyer in South Dakota. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2005.

Yula Mae was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fort Madison, Iowa. She was employed at Campbell Soup in Worthington for fourteen years, then became a wonderful homemaker, spending her time caring for her family, cooking and making new recipes. She was especially known for her potato salad recipe. Yula Mae also liked to play Pinochle, Bingo and Solitare; and collected Campbell Soup memorabilia and salt and pepper shakers. Yula Mae called Montrose, Iowa her home for over 30 years. She will be best remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, and her goodness to everyone she knew.

Yula Mae is survived by six children: Chad Meyer and Stacy (Chris) Rule of Montrose, Iowa, Monte Meyer of Fort Madison, Iowa, Connie (Jeff) Struckman and Bonnie (Mark) Schroeder of Elgin, Minnesota, and Cindy Austin of Rochester, Minnesota; her sister Sandra Jones; daughter-in-law Brenda Meyer; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Yula Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Bonnie, brothers Larry and James and one son Perry Meyer.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 2, 2021, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk, with burial to follow at Keokuk National Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home directly before the service.
