FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison boys got to celebrate senior night with a flare Tuesday night as they blew out Van Buren 19-4 highlighted by an 8-run third inning.

Senior hurler Garrett Hannum got in trouble early giving up a couple runs in the first inning due to an error in left with one out allowing two runs to come in for a quick 2-0 Van Buren lead.

Landes Williams would single to start things in the bottom half. After a groundout, Vasin Thurman singled to third and Tate Johnson would move him over with a fielder's choice back to the pitcher that scored Williams, before Van Buren would get out of the inning with a ground out.

Taylor Sprouse opened the second with a double, but Hannum would settle in and retire the side without a run.

Fort Madison would get things turned around in the second with five runs highlighted by Johnson's triple that turned into a three-run play when he came all the way around to score on an error in left, driving in both Jason and Vasin Thurman.

The Warriors would plate their final two runs in the top of the third when Casey Yochum blasted a home run to center scoring Treyton Bainbridge from first.

It was all Fort Madison from that point on including the 8-spot in the 3rd and another five runs in the fourth to set the 15-run rule after four innings, 19-4.

Johnson would double for two more RBI in the third and triple to center in the fourth scoring a run. Jason Thurman also had a 2 RBI double in the third.
