RiverFest 2021
The annual summer rock fest along the riverfront in Fort Madison runs Aug. 5-8. For a complete list of entertainment, food and how to get tickets visit the website at www.riverfestfm.com.

Fort Madison Farmer’s Market
The summer farmer’s markets are back in Central Park each Monday through Oct. 4 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Interested vendors should call the Fort Madison Chamber at 319-372-5471. Visit @FMFarmersMarket for more information.

Tri-State Quilt Guild
The quilt crafts will be displayed at the Fort Madison Area Arts Association during the month of August. Opening reception will be held Friday, Aug. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Tri-State Rodeo
The annual Tri State Rodeo is back after the pandemic shuttered the event in 2020. Top national cowboys descend on Fort Madison's C.E. Eddie Richards Arena starting Wed. Sept. 8. Entertainment this year includes Nelly, Mark Chesnutt, David Lee Murphy, and Cole Swindell. Ready to Rodeo activities start Saturday Sept. 4. Fort Madison Partner’s Annual Dinner
This year’s event is a Luau at the Baxter Sports Complex on Sept. 23. For more information contact the Fort Madison Chamber of Commerce at 319-372-5471.

Stuff the Bus
An event to give kids a head start going back to school with supplies will be held at Keokuk Wal-Mart from Aug. 6-8th. Donated school supplies can be added to the Salvation Army bus on site to help more children start school right.

P.A.W. fundraiser golf outing
Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course is the site of the annual P.A.W. four-person best shot golf tournament on Sunday, Aug. 8, beginning at 1 p.m. $50 per players with all proceeds benefiting PAW Animal Shelter. Call 318-528-6214 to register.

Cook the Book
The Fort Madison Public Library will host Cooking for the Garden at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at the library.

Free Hot Dog Day
Pilot Grove Savings Bank is hosting a free Hot Dog lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13th. Lunch also comes with chips and a drink. Lee County Relay for Life Tough Enough to Wear Pink T-shirts will also be available and a live remote from 101.7 The Bull!.

“Music in the Park”
The Old Settlers Park associations annual summer concert series continues on August 22 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. with River City 6. Food and beverages will be available. To help sponsor, contact Sheryl Decker at 372-7813.

Evening with Jordan Bohannon
University of Iowa standout Jordan Bohannon will be a guest speaker at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course on Friday, Aug. 27. Social hour is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Bohannon speaking from 7 to 7:30. A Q&A will be held from 7:30 to 7:45 and a Meet & Greet begins at 8 p.m. Limited 8-seat VIP tables are available for $280. Individual tickets are $35. Dinner, draft beer and soda included with tickets. Limited to first 125. Call 319-528-6214 to reserve seating.

Pollinator Walk Series
Lee County Extension and Lee County Conservation are hosting the final of their pollinator walk series featuring flowering plants and their role in pollination. The walk is free with an RSVP requested at 835-5116 and will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 28.

Summer Downtown Markets
This year's final downtown market will be held Aug. 19th in historic downtown Fort Madison. Food, beer, wine, donuts, boutiques, home decor, signs, fresh garden plants, music and more from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m starting at 7th and Avenue G. Be a vendor by contacting darlarae71@yahoo.com.

YMCA Rodeo Stampede
The annual Rodeo run will take place Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021 starting with youth at 7:45 and adults at 8 a.m. Deadline for registration is Friday, Aug. 20. Day of registration/check in starts at 7 a.m. on the day of event at 9th and Avenue G. Registration fee is $25.

Read Across Iowa
WEST POINT – Preschool story time through the Iowa State University Extension is being held on Mondays in March beginning at 10 a.m. at the West Point Public Library. This year’s theme is agriculture.

NLCHS board meeting
The monthly public meeting of the North Lee County Historical Society will be held on Tuesday, August 10th at 7 p.m. at the Historic ATSF Depot. Guest speaker for the meeting will be Mayor Matt Mohrfeld, who will address the future of the Historical Societies Museum Complex. In other business they will discuss repairs to Brush College, the War of 1812 Battlefield Site , a new sign for the Fort Replica in Riverview Park  and other projects of the Society. President Andy Andrews hopes all area members and interested citizens attend this meeting.

Pollmiller Fishing Derby
Three Rivers Conservation Foundation will host a fishing derby at Pollmiller Park. There will be food for the whole family, fun activities and prizes and awards for kids ages 3 to 16. Saturday Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Pollmiller Park Shelter.

Central Lee Golf Outing
The Central Lee Athletics Department is hosting it's 3rd annual Central Lee Golf Outing at Green Acres Country Club on Sunday, Aug. 15th at 10 a.m. Call the golf course for more details at 319-835-5011.

Parenting Classes
A 14-week parenting class starts Wed. Aug. 11 at 7th Day Adventist Church, 1702 Avenue I. To register contact Shayla Blackburn at 319-371-7465. Cost is $30/per son and covers books and materials. Seating is limited. Childcare and refreshments will be provided.
