ARGYLE- Officers with the Keokuk Police Department arrested a man in connection with multiple shootings that took place last week in Keokuk.

Police officers, with the assistance of the Lee County Narcotics Task Force, the Lee County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa State Patrol, executed a search warrant in the 3100 block of Argyle at 1:57 a.m. Friday morning.

As a result of the warrant, Richard Campbell, 33, of Ottumwa, was taken into custody on charges of attempted murder, a class B felony.

Campbell was also arrested on charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a class C felony, going armed with intent, a class D felony, possession of a firearm by a felon, a Class D felony and parole violation. He was held at the Lee County Jail.

Campbell's arrest stems from an investigation by Keokuk Police that began on July 31. Police and an off-duty Lee County sheriff's deputy responded to a report of a traffic crash involving an SUV, a car, and a motorcycle in the 1600 block of S. 7th Street.

According to reports, shots were fired in three different locations starting in the 1000 block of Palen Street, the 600 block of 5th Street and the 1600 block of S. 7th Street.

A class B felony is punishable by up to 25 years in prison, according to Iowa law. The Class C felonies are punishable by up to 10 years and $10,000. Class D felonies carry a maximum five years incarceration and up to $7,500 in fines.
