Patricia L. Hawes,92, of Fort Madison passed away at 9:50 AM on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at The Madison.
She was born on July 23, 1929 in Ft. Madison to William and Margaret Denning Schroeder. On April 10, 1948 she married Dale Hawes and he passed away on April 10, 1999. Pat was a bookkeeper at the Iowa State Penitentiary and retired after over forty years of service. She enjoyed sewing, restoring dolls and traveling. Pat was a member of Ss. Mary & Joseph Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She worked countless hours at the church volunteering in all aspects there.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and two brothers.
The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 11 AM at Ss. Mary & Joseph Church with Reverend Joseph Phung officiating. The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM at the church. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
