Sheryl Lynn Tallman, 64 of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO.

She was born December 7, 1956 in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Joe and Mary Whitaker Scholl. On June 30, 1972 she was united in marriage to Raymond Tallman in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2017.

Sheryl had been employed by River Hills Village in Keokuk for thirty-three years.

She was a member of New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk.

Sheryl enjoyed camping, fishing and reading western romance novels. She was a skilled seamstress and made all kinds of clothes through the years. She also enjoyed making handmade crafts for her family and friends to enjoy. Sheryl was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Sheryl was a devoted wife and mother, raising her children and family was the most important aspect of her life. She loved attending her children and grandchildren’s activities and showered them with encouragement and praise.

Sheryl is survived by two sons, Raymond Joseph Tallman of Keokuk and Ryan James Tallman (Courtney) of St. Louis, MO, eight grandchildren, Lexi Tallman, Jalen Smith, Leddia Tallman, Layton Tallman, Abby Tallman, Samantha Tallman, Canyon Tallman and Carrigan Tallman, one great-grandchild, Karsyn Smith and one on the way. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Scholl of Hannibal, MO, three sisters, Mary Jo Voepel of Palmyra, MO, Terri Rosenkrans of Hannibal, MO and Penny Person (Jimmy Powell) of Hannibal, MO, two brothers, John Scholl (Mary) of Springfield, MO and Kevin Scholl (Sheila) of Palmyra, MO and a dear friend, Jeree Mitts of Palmyra, MO.

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her father and one son, Jerrud Tallman.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Dawn Farris officiating. Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after 2 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home with family meeting with friends from 4-6 p.m.
