Robert F. “Bob” Rhode, 91, of Cape Coral, FL and formerly of Ft. Madison passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 12:43 PM at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral.

He was born on December 29, 1929 in Ft. Madison to Albert H. and Louise M. Otte Rhode.On April 10, 1950 he married Barbara Decker in Ft. Madison.Bob worked in the test laboratory at Sheaffer Pen Company and retired in 1990 after forty three years of service.He was a long time member of Sacred Heart Church in Fort Madison and also attend Ss. Mary & Patrick Church in West Burlington.He was a member of Hend-Co Hills golf club in Biggsville, IL and a lifetime member of the Ft. Madison Elks Lodge.Bob was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan.He served his country in the US Army and served in the active reserves for seven years.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Rhode of Cape Coral, FL; two sons, Scott (Louise) Rhode and Bruce (Renee) Rhode both of Cape Coral, FL; one daughter, Gale (Clair) Swinton of Oceanport, New Jersey;three grandchildren, Rachel Rhode, Andy Swinton & Erik Swinton and three great grandchildren, C.J. Swinton, Cooper Swinton & Cole Swinton.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

   Per his wishes, his body has been cremated, King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.  A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church followed by a burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.
