Sonja Ann Stottlemyer, 69, of Keokuk, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, at her home in Keokuk.

Sonja was born on November 7, 1951, in Keokuk, the daughter of William Dietrich and Betty June (Loewenstein) Fellows. On March 20, 1975, she was united in marriage to William Stottlemyer in Carthage, Illinois. He survives.

Sonja was a dedicated mother and wife who worked beside her husband in their contracting company. Her favorite pastime was hosting her family for Sunday meals and holidays, where she was known for her delicious cooking, especially her famous potato salad. Sonja was an avid fan of Elvis and enjoyed spending her free time watching Judge Judy, solving crossword puzzles, antiquing with her husband, and most of all, spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by anyone who knew her.

Sonja is survived by her husband William of Keokuk; two daughters: Denise Steenberg and Carrie Lyn (John Egley) Stottlemyer, both of Keokuk; five grandchildren: Anthony Conard of Keokuk, Destinee Steenberg of Fort Madison, Jocee Helenthal of Keokuk, Taylor Bottger of Keokuk and Noah Egley of Keokuk; two great-grandchildren: Kinzley Murphy of Fort Madison and Leo Walton of Keokuk; her niece Alexis Bellino; her nephew Erich Dietrich; and many cousins.

Sonja is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Larry Ray Dietrich.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
