Cynthia Greenwald,85, of Ft. Madison, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2;09 AM at Sunnybrook Assisted Living in Ft. Madison.

   She was born on October 20, 1935 in Henrietta, MO to William and Nina Bell Tory.  On August 7, 1954 she married Clarence “Jerome” Greenwald in Ft. Madison and he passed away on May 26, 2015.   Cynthia was a homemaker and a secretary.  She was a member of Ss. Mary & Joseph Church. Cynthia enjoyed sewing, ceramics and loved doing crossword puzzles.  

   Survivors include three sons, Pastor Tim (Debbie) Greenwald of Oshkosh, WI, Dan (Kathy) Greenwald of Ft. Madison and Chris (Linda) Greenwald of Ft. Madison; two daughters, Deb (Kenny) Sheets of Ft. Madison and Diane (Mike) Holtkamp of West Point; eighteen grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren; one brother, Willie Tory of Ft. Madison; one sister, Marge McCarl of Ft. Madison and her extended family and friends at Sunnybrook.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson, Ryan Greenwald; a great grandson, Noah Sheets; a brother, Tommy and two sisters, Genevieve and Alma .

   Friends may call after 2 PM at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, August 24, 2021 where the family will meet with friends from 4:30-6 PM.  A wake service will be held at 6 PM.  A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 10 AM at Ss. Mary & Joseph Church with Rev. Joseph Phung officiating.  Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.

   The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Sunnybrook for the continued care and compassion they showed their Mom the past few years.   A memorial has been established in her memory and online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com
