Randy Van Niewaal, 63, of Burlington, passed at 12:05 pm Sunday, August 22, 2021, at his home.

Born May 27, 1958, in Oskaloosa, IA, he was the son of Ronald D. and Patricia A. Hartley Van Niewaal. On July 4, 1999 he married Chi Hurley in Iowa. 

He owned and operated Pro Plumbing Incorporated for most of his working life.

Randy was the best of the best. He was very sociable and never met a stranger. He was always there to help when you needed him. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and ran the FTA Speedway GoKart track. He loved being on the river, boating or hunting, and was a member of Ducks ULTD. When not out on the river, he was a professional gambler.

Survivors include mother, Patricia A. Van Niewaal; wife, Chi Van Niewaal of Burlington; brother, Rod (Jeannie) Van Niewaal of Gulfport, IL; two sisters, Tina "Hildy-Bird" (Rick) Kienlen of Burlington, Vikki (Ron Thompson) Bowers of Lomax, IL; six children, Rachel (Victor Peterson) Correll of Burlington, Heather Winn of Burlington, Autumn Turner of Burlington, Bobbie (DJ) Brooks of Fort Madison, IA, Randy (Katy) Van Niewaal of St Paul, IA, and Rusty Van Niewaal of Burlington; 15 grandkids, 4 great grandkids, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, and one sister, Brenda.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 4, at 2:00 PM at 705 Maple St, Burlington, IA 52601.
