FORT MADISON - Fort Madison police are currently looking for a suspect in connection with gun fire Wednesday night near 26th Street and Avenue I.

According to Fort Madison Police Chief Mark Rohloff, police were called to the intersection just after 8:30 p.m. where a motorist stated he was accosted by the occupants of a second vehicle.

In a release, Rohloff indicated a small caliber pistol was discharged into the air and some yelling occurred.

"Apparently we have some bad blood here between a couple people," Rohloff said.

He said the parties are reported to have known each other, but no injuries or property damage resulted from the incident.

Officers did recover a single shell casing at the scene. A description of the suspect and a vehicle were obtained and officers are currently looking for both.

Rohloff said further information will be made public as it becomes available.
