Central Lee girls open with sweep of Keokuk

DONNELLSON - The Central Lee Lady Hawks opened play Monday night with a sweep of Keokuk in three sets.

The Hawks won 25-21, 25-22, 25-16 behind the net play of Makayla Morrison who went 14 of 17 attacking with 14 kills. She also served 10 of 11 with an ace and had a couple digs, defensively.

Meghan Hopp was a perfect 12 of 12 hitting with 11 kills and an assist. She also served 8 for 10 with three aces. Hopp had eight blocks on the night. Alivia Myhre, playing in her first season with the Hawks had three kills and three blocks.

Macy Watkins had 31 assists and served 9 of 10 with an ace. Alix Congdon was a perfect 11 of 11 from the service line with two aces and seven digs. Sophie Turner was 11 for 13 serving with two aces and a couple digs.

The Hawks get right into things on Thursday with a trip to Class 1A No. 3 New London on Thursday night.
