Rena Maureen Blint, 72, of West Point, Iowa, passed peacefully at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, September 6, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with renal failure.

She was born on December 18, 1948, in San Bernardino, California the daughter of Harlin and Dorothy Carroll. As a child, she grew up in Lebanon, Missouri with her seven siblings: Raymond Carroll, Roger Carroll, Rhonda Roberts, Rodney Carroll, Randy Carroll, Russell Carroll and Ricky Carroll. 

Rena worked as a waitress at Jim’s Pizzeria in Waynesville, Missouri, where she met a military man that enjoyed the view more than the pizza. Rena married Roger Blint from West Point, Iowa on August 2, 1968. She moved to West Point, Iowa, where she inherited twelve brothers and sisters of a large loving family. Rena created a beautiful life together with Roger. They had six children: Kevin and Rose Blint of Fort Madison, Iowa, Rod and Theresa Judd of Townville, South Carolina and Micheal and Heather Blint of West Point, Iowa. They also have ten grandchildren: Toni Blint, Destiny and Nate Richardson, Dylan and Danielle Blint, Jessica and Jason Bennefield, Jeff and Heidi Scott, Ashley Harrington, Adrian and Justin McFadden, Amber and Kolton Smith, August and Dillon Charbonneau and Arren Harrington. Her golden treasures were her great grandchildren: Braxton, Cora, Kylie, Malachi, MacKenzie, Lily, Adalynn, Lucas, Kenneth, Konnar, Kenton, Kaisley, Rowan, Emrie, Azalea, Karter and Kallahan.

Rena had many talents such as baking and cooking, especially pies and bread. She enjoyed gardening, dancing and laughter. She worked at many local greenhouses over the years and retired from Wal-Mart warehouse in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa after twenty-three years.

A private family graveside service will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Williamson Cemetery, rural West Point, Iowa.Burial will be at Williamson Cemetery, rural West Point, Iowa
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her memory for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
