Nancey Ruth Kelly, 89, of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021, in Granger, Iowa at Granger Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Nancey was born October 20, 1931, in Grant Township, MI, the daughter of Chester R. and Violet (Hedges) Klampe. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1950. Nancey was united in marriage to John Kelly on October 3, 1975, in Carthage, IL. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2003.
Nancey was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Keokuk, where she faithfully volunteered. She enjoyed spending her free time watching The Young & The Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful and game shows (especially Family Feud), and listening to and singing music. She also enjoyed line-dancing with the Keosippi Kickers for many years.
Nancey is survived by her four sons: Richard (Sandy) Kelly of Cantril, IA, Perry Phillips of Altoona, IA, David (Dianne) Kelly of Sigourney, IA, and Jeremy Phillips (Deb Copeland) of Des Moines, IA; five daughters: Connie (David) Heiser of Pulaski, IA, Polly (Joe) Antonelli of Altoona, IA, Robin (Calvin) Bartholomew of Milton, IA, Jennifer (Mitch) Goodenow of Waukee, IA, and Angela (Jeff) Holliday of Quincy, Ill.; brother: James (Barb) Klampe of Oskaloosa, IA; sister Luella (Mody) Bass of Kamiah, ID; sister-in-law Nancy Klampe; seventeen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives; and numerous beloved friends.
Nancey is preceded in death by her husband John, her parents Chester and Violet Klampe, her step-mother Ruth Klampe, her brother Donald Klampe, and her niece Tammy Klampe.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 5, 2021, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home. Visitation was Sunday at the funeral home directly before the service. Masks will be required.
