Raymond “Flame” Leroy Happs, 67 of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at his home.

     He was born May 25, 1954 in Keokuk, IA the son of John Lewis, Sr. and Rachel Mae Jenkins Happs.

     In his younger years, Raymond had been employed by Smith-Brenter in St. Louis, MO and at Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.  He later had been employed by Hickey Construction and then Keokuk Contractors until his retirement.  Raymond also had multiple entrepreneurial ventures, including Flames Speed Shop.

     He was a member of Family Worship Center.  He had a strong faith that was a vital part in his life.  He recently had been reaching out to others and sharing his love of God with them.

     Raymond loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and enjoyed spending time working in it.

     He is survived by three children, Chad (Jenna) Happs of Keokuk, Mike (Shannon) Happs of Olathe, KS and Cory (Courtney) Happs of Keokuk, thirteen grandchildren, eleven siblings, John (Kathy) Happs, Jr., of Sutter, IL, Jerry (Becky) Happs, Carol Fojtik, Christine (Kris) Priebe all of Hamilton, IL, JoAnn (James) McVeigh, Ricky Happs, Tracey (Mark) Shuman all of Wayland, MO, Vickie Happs, Connie Powers, Donna (Elmer) Kay and Stanley Happs all of Keokuk.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, Harry and Gertrude Jenkins and paternal grandparents, John Henry and Blanch Happs.

     A Gathering of Remembrance will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, at the Family Worship Center in Keokuk, IA with family meeting with friends at that time.
