CEDAR RAPIDS - The Fort Madison Bloodhounds started the weekend going 0-3 in pool play.

The Hounds lost to Class 3A No. 4 Davenport Assumption, Class 4A No. 6 Marion and Tipton to be moved to the consolation bracket.

There they found themselves against Center Point-Urbana and fell 18-25, 13-21, 11-15 to wrap up the tournament.

"We finally got some things rolling and even the girls proclaimed after, that it was the scrappiest, most hustle game they felt they've ever played," coach Kelly Knustrom said. "Unfortunately, some unforced errors led to a 3-set loss and an end to our day."

Anna Lynk had seven kills and two blocks. Eve Ruble served 7-7 with an ace, and had seven kills. Aija Jenkins had six kills and Taylor Johnson had four kills and three blocks. Madison Pirri served 10-13 with three aces and had 27 digs. Hattie Schrepfer served 5-6 and had 10 digs. Amy Yasenchok served 15-15 with an ace and had six digs. Molly Knipe also had three aces, five kills and 17 digs. She also had 18 assists.

Alana Simpson served 17-19 with two aces, had seven kills, and 13 digs.

The freshmen and JV teams play Monday night against HTC at home.
