Penny Sue Booth, 60, of Ankeny, IA formerly of Keokuk, IA, died Sunday, September 12, 2021 at her home.

     She was born on October 17, 1960 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Larry and Ruby Emma Davis Mitchell.   Penny graduated from Keokuk Senior High with the Class of 1979.

     On October 13, 1984, Penny was united in marriage to Paul Eldon Booth at the First Baptist Church in Keokuk.  He survives.

     She is also survived by her children, Chantel Westermeyer and her husband Dave of Argyle, IA, Paul Booth, Jr. and his wife Tasha of Ankeny, IA and Amber Booth of Hannibal, Missouri, six grandchildren, Jared and Jeremy Oliver, Layla, Lincoln and Linley Booth and Landon Lewis.  She is also survived by her father, Larry Mitchell of Kahoka, MO, four brothers, Mike Mitchell (Susie) of Hollister, MO, Jeff Mitchell (Penny) of Keokuk, Todd Mitchell (Eddie) of Rowlett, TX and Greg Gillespy (Nancy Heil) of Edina, MO, and nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her mother.

     Penny had been employed at Hy-Vee in Keokuk for forty years.

     She was a member of the Embury United Methodist Church in Argyle.

     Penny enjoyed going on motorcycle rides and traveling. Her favorite place to travel was to Destin and Daytona Beach, FL. Family vacations to Destin held a special place in her heart.  She was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.   Penny was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved spending time with them.

     Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Sim Tolbert officiating.  Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery.

     Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. with the family meeting with friends at that time.

     Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
