Richard F. Reynolds, 70, of Franklin, Iowa, passed away at 7:32 a.m. Sunday, September 19, 2021 at his home in Franklin.
Richard was born on May 1, 1951, the son of Richard Lewis and Betty Jean (Schumann) Reynolds. On July 2, 1999, he married Blanche Wagner.
Survivors include his wife: Blanche; mother: Betty (Benny) Reeves of Burlington, Iowa; children: Shane (Kelli) Reynolds of New Braunfels, Texas, Tracy Stoneking of Meade, Kansas, Billy (Sharon) Thompson of Meade, Kansas, Sunshine Norris of Great Bend, Kansas, Jessie (Jim) Spence of Burlington, Iowa, Scarlett (James) Wondra of Meade, Kansas and Jamie Lee (Jamie Piles) Wagner of Fort Madison, Iowa; twenty-two grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one sister; six brothers and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; infant daughter: Candy; father-in-law: Elmer; mother-in-law: Mildred and grandson: Cody.
Richard was a graduate of Burlington High School. He served as a specialist for the Charlie Company in the United States Army 7th Calvary from 1968 to 1976. He served in Vietnam for one year. He was a member of the Standing Bear Council and the American Legion. Richard was a roughneck, firefighter and retired as a CNC operator at Heatilator in 2005.
His body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz Funeral Home for cremation.
Friends may call after 12:00 noon, Friday, September 24, 2021, at Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m
At 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021, native rites by Rising Sun will be held at Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson.
Following his service, a celebration of life will be held at the Franklin Park in Franklin, Iowa, with full military rites presented. A fish fry and potluck will be held at the park.
A memorial has been established in his memory.
