FM home hit with gunfire Sunday night

FORT MADISON - A home in the 1400 block of Avenue I, just south of the city cemetery, was hit with gun fire late Sunday.

According to information from the Fort Madison Police Department, at about 10:22 p.m., officers were called to that scene and discovered three bullet holes in the front picture window of a home at 1404 Avenue I.

The residence was occupied at the time, but no injuries were reported as a result of the shooting.

Officers investigating the incident discovered three spent shell casings at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation, but it is believed at this time to be an isolated incident and not a random act of violence.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Fort Madison Police Department at 372-2525.
