CAROLINA BEACH - ISP K9 Sgt. Mike Barnes and his K9 partner "Justice" recently placed 13th nationally in a North Carolina field trial competition.

The team went to Carolina Beach in North Carolina where the National Police Canine Association PD1 trials were held.

Barnes and 'Justice' went up against 70 qualifying teams across the country to show mastery in obedience, apprehension, agility, article and suspect search.

The team is judged individually on each category as well as how well the animal sits on command and bites during apprehension.

The competition was held over four days, and the team also earned their national certification at the trials.
