Sharla Sue Gerdom, 73, of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Roseville Rehabilitation & Health Care.

Sharla was born on January 24, 1948 in Edina, Missouri, the daughter of George W. and Mary (Hensley) Welch. On September 21, 1990 she married Fred Gerdom at the Durham United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2007.

Mrs. Gerdom was a graduate of the Dallas City High School. She worked for JI Case, Burlington, for over 20 years. She also worked at the Pink Tavern, Lomax, Illinois, for several years. She was a member of the Durham United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons: David (Wendi) Worley of Dallas City and Darin Worley of Burlington, Iowa; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one sister: Janis Morin of DesMoines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father: Emery Harris, husband and one brother: Jack Welch.

A private burial will be held in the Carman Cemetery, Carman, Illinois. A memorial fund has been established for the PAW Animal Shelter in Fort Madison. Memorials may be sent to the Sharla Gerdom Memorial Fund, c/o Banks & Beals Funeral Home, P.O. Box 70, Dallas City, Illinois 62330.
