Sharon Lynn Barry, 73, of Keokuk died Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Blessing Health Keokuk.

     She was born on November 26, 1947 at St. Joseph Hospital in Keokuk, the daughter of Sidney and Ruby Marie Sanders Griffith.  She graduated from Columbia Heights High School with the Class of 1965.  She graduated from Southeastern Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting.

     On April 20, 1968, Sharon was united in marriage to John William Barry at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Keokuk.  He preceded her in death on April 13, 2013.

     She had been employed at Eagle Summit/Optimae/Lincoln Ridge in Keokuk.  Prior to that employment she had worked at Griffin Wheel and Sheller Globe in Keokuk.

     Sharon was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk.

     She loved to play Sudoku and was an excellent player.  Sharon was an avid reader of mystery novels and especially enjoyed reading James Patterson books.  She was excellent at baking and candy making.   Sharon enjoyed crocheting and was a talented seamstress.  She liked watching John Wayne movies, going, fishing and making Barbie furniture for her grandchildren.

     Sharon is survived by three daughters, Michelle (Carlos) Barrera of Evansdale, IA, Dana (Dan) Corvaia of Hamilton, IL and Marie (Ken) Barry of Keokuk, grandchildren, David and Anna Jingst, Rose Marie Jones, Joseph Corvaia, Jozi Corvaia, James (Livianna) Corvaia and Avery Casey one great grandchild, Danielle Corvaia and one on the way.  She is also survived by siblings, Charles (Terri) Griffith of Bettendorf, IA, Vincent (Teresa) Griffith of Fridley, MN, James “Mike” (Kim) Griffith of Zimmerman, MN and Clarice (Todd) Griffith of Gurnee, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

     Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William Griffith and Victor Schorr.

     A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. 

     Memorials may be made to the Keokuk Humane Society.

     The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA is assisting the family with arrangements.
