Lady Hawks roll Danville in three

DANVILLE - The Central Lee Lady Hawks improved to 11-9 on the year with a three-set win over Danville on the road Thursday night.

Central Lee won 26-24 in an extended first set and then rolled to 25-16, 25-20 wins in sets two and three.

Makayla Morrison and Alivia Myhre each had 10 kills on the night. Morrison had a team high 15 digs along with Meghan Hopp who had 15 digs and three blocks. Macy Watkins had 30 assists, 16 digs and four kills for Central Lee.

The Hawks downed Cardinal last Thursday 25-10, 25-11, 25-13, with Hopp leading the way at the net with 15 kills and a couple blocks. Watkins had 33 assists and nine digs for the Hawks. Sophie Turner had five aces in the match.

The Hawks play in the Davis County Invitational Saturday and then host Class 1A No. 5 Holy Trinity Catholic for senior night on Tuesday. The Hawks took one game for the Crusaders in the Southeast Iowa Superconference tournament, but lost 2-1 two weeks ago.
