Jean Elizabeth Rhodes, 78, of Nauvoo, Illinois, passed away 7:02 pm, Friday, October 8, 2021 at Blessing Health Center, in Keokuk, Iowa.
Born January 3, 1943 in Keosauqua, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Bessie (McElfish) Hogge. On April 15, 1961, she married John R. Rhodes he preceded in death January 27, 1999.
Survivors include her daughter: Kim (Terry) Mapes of Hamilton, Illinois; son: David Rhodes of Nauvoo, Illinois; grandchildren: Troy (Sydney) Mapes, Corrisa Mapes, Danielle (Parker) Miller, Krystal (Devon) Fisher; and one great grandchild: Julie Mapes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Claire Mae LaGrange.
Jean was a registered nurse in Ottumwa, Iowa and Spokane, Washington. She was a member of Living Waters Assembly of God Church in Keokuk. She enjoyed painting, reading, cruises, bible studies, and spending time with her family.
Her body has been entrusted for cremation to the crematory of Schmitz-Banks & Beals Funeral Home.
No visitation or services are planned.
