Robert L. “Bob” Long, 87, of West Point, IA, died Saturday, October 16, 2021 at River Hills Village in Keokuk.

He was born on July 16, 1934 in Ferris, IL, the son of Willis and Alice Iseminger Long.

He graduated from Warsaw High School with the Class of 1952.

On December 17, 1955, Bob was united in marriage to Charlotte Marline Boone in Quincy, IL. She preceded him in death on January 23, 2015.

Bob had been employed at St. Louis Gear/Royal Machines in Keokuk for over 30 years, retiring in 1999.

Bob was a quiet, intelligent, hard-working man. He was married to the love of his life for 59 years. They spent a lot of time on the weekends selling different items at flea markets. The most important part of their life was caring for their family.He was very close with his son. He loved spending time with his granddaughter and great granddaughters. He will be missed.

He is survived by his son, Steve Long of Warsaw, one granddaughter Shannon (Long) Chilson and her husband Jason of Portage WI, three great granddaughters Julia, Savannah, and Audra, one brother Larry (Carolyn) Long, two sisters Donna (Casey) Jones and Marilyn Griffin.

Besides his wife, Bob was also preceded in death by his parents Willis and Alice (Iseminger) Long.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor David Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Warsaw, IL.

Visitation will be held after 1 p.m., Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with the family meeting with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
