Fort Madison Police report
10/26/21 – 12:00 a.m. – Fort Madison police arrested Sheldon Lee Saltzgaver, 62, of Fort Madison, in the 2600 block of Avenue L, on a warrant for failure to appear – driving while suspended. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
10/26/21 – 12:45 a.m. – Fort Madison police arrested Timothy George Brockman, 34, of Fort Madison, in the 1400 block of Avenue E, on a warrant for failure to appear – public intoxication. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
10/26/21 – 6:23 a.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a hit & run in the 5400 block of Avenue O.
10/26/21 – 8:45 a.m. – Fort Madison police cited Cassandra Sue Ellen Helmick, 34, of Fort Madison, in the 800 block of Avenue E, on a charge of 2nd degree arson.
10/26/21 – 9:31 a.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of vandalism in the 1500 block of Avenue A.
10/26/21 – 6:33 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of of larceny/theft in the 2000 block of Avenue B.
10/26/21 – 7:49 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of larceny/theft in the 1400 block of Avenue F.
10/26/21 – 9:04 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a hit & run in the 1500 block of Avenue H.
10/26/21 – 10:05 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a property damage accident in the intersection of 303rd Avenue and Airport Road.
10/27/21 – 4:20 a.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 800 block of Avenue D.

Lee County Sheriff report
10/26/21 – 11:54 a.m. – Lee County Sheriff's deputies responded to a two-car accident on Walker Lane. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Amy Lyn Briggs, 44, of Montrose, was driving eastbound and failed to keep on the right half of the gravel roadway, causing a vehicle driven by Tammy L. Willing, 50, of Durham, Mo. to veer to the outer edge of the roadway without leaving the roadway and entering a deep ditch. The vehicles struck drivers' side mirrors. No injuries or citations were reported.
10/26/21 – 12:32 a.m. – Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jason Paul Thurman, 41, of Burlington, at the sheriff's office, on a charge of being a fugitive from justice. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
10/26/21 – 3:30 p.m. – Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Darrin Michael Fitzgerald, 20, of Hamilton, Ill., at the Hancock County Jail, on charges of violation of probation, voluntary absence from custody, and judgment hold. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
10/26/21 – 4:09 p.m. – Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Desiree Lynn Bishop, 28, of Mt. Pleasant, in the 700 block of Avenue F, on a warrant for violation of probation. She was taken to Lee County Jail.
10/26/21 – 7:09 p.m. – Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Michelle Marie Decker, 36, of Fort Madison, in the 700 block of Avenue F, on a warrant for violation of probation. She was taken to Lee County Jail.
10/26/21 – 8:23 p.m. – Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Ryan Ray Tinder, 41, of Keokuk, in the 100 block of 7th Street on a warrant for violation of probation. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
10/26/21 – 9:39 p.m. – Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jeremiah Lewis Jack Jordan, 39, of Carthage, Ill., at Arrowhead Bowl, on a charge of driving while barred. He was cited and released.
10/26/21 – 11:14 p.m. – Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Josie Lee McCormick, 36, of Farmington, at the intersection of Hwy. 2 and 204th Avenue on a charge of OWI - 1st offense. She was taken to Lee County Jail.
10/27/21 – 5:18 a.m. – Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile from Ottumwa, in the 2500 block of 255th Street, on a charge of assault with injury of a law officer or other. Adjudicated delinquent.
