Five area girls named 1st-team all SEISC south

HTC's Natalie Randolph named All Tournament Team in Class 1A

LEE COUNTY - Four seniors and a junior were named to the 1st-team All-Southeast Iowa Superconference volleyball team last week.

For the state semifinalist Holy Trinity Catholic Crusaders, seniors Kassi Randolph and Anna Sobczak were named to the squad.

Randolph was selected as a utility player, while Sobczak was named the top libero in the South Division. Randolph had 400 assists and 221 kills on the year. She also has 225 digs and served at just under 94% on the year.

Sobczak led the Crusaders with 513 digs, second in the conference to New London's Emma Nye who also was named 1st team. She had 655 digs on the year.

Natalie Randolph, Mary Kate Bendlage and Teagan Denning were all named to the second team.

Natalie Randolph was also named to the Class 1A All-Tournament team at the State Volleyball Championships Thursday. Randolph had 19 kills, 27 digs and 19 assists in the Crusaders two matches at the state tournament.

Central Lee's Makayla Morrison, Meghan Hopp and Macy Watkins were all named first team in the south division. Morrison and Hopp both were honored as hitters. Morrison had 308 kills to Hopp's 271. Watkins was selected as a setter and led the Lady Hawks with 716 assists.

Burlington Notre Dame's Josie Bentz was named Player of the Year and Mike Davis earned Coach of the Year for the Class 1A state champion Nikes.

Holy Trinity's Brooke Mueller and Kayla Box were named honorable mention, while Central Lee's Alivia Myhre and Alix Congdon both earned honorable mention.
