Erwin S. Rippenkroeger, 95, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Sunnybrook Assisted Living in Fort Madison, IA.  He was born on September 5, 1926 in Pilot Grove, IA to Joseph & Alice (Carson) Rippenkroeger. He married Marcella “Sally” R. Kramer on November 5, 1949 in West Point, IA. They recently celebrated their 72nd year of marriage.  He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a mechanic and electrician at DuPont in Fort Madison for 33 years.  He was a member of Holy Family Parish and the American Legion, and enjoyed camping, woodworking and making model airplanes.

Erwin is survived by: his wife: Marcella “Sally” Rippenkroeger of Fort Madison, IA; 1-son: Stephen (Jane) Rippenkroeger of West Burlington, IA; 1-daughter: Jeanne Brower of Reno, NV; 5-grandchildren: Nicole (Ben) Gross, Kate Brower, Julie Brower, Sonia Rippenkroeger & Joseph (Katie) Rippenkroeger; 3-great grandchildren: Benjamin Gross, Rosemarie Gross & Annette Gross; 1-sister: Luella Dempsey of Fort Madison, IA and several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by: his parents & 2-sisters: Bertha Todd & JoAnn Edwards.

A rosary will be recited at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church immediately followed by a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.  The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev.
