FMMS girls split to open season

FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison 8th grade girl’s basketball team opened up the season with a split of their first two games.  In the season opener the A team beat Washington 27-24. Ellie Huebner led the team in scoring with seven points.  Dayonna Davis and Mara Smith were next with six points each.  Halle Menke added four points while Hadley Wolfe and Dynasty Bell-Washington pitched in with two each.  Davis led in rebounds with weven.  The B team lost 25-4. Sydney McEntee had all four points for the Hounds.

In the second game the A team lost to Mount Pleasant 26-19.  Davis led the scoring with 13 points. Bell-Washington had four points and Halle Menke chipped in with two.  Menke led in rebounds with six.  In the B game Fort Madison won 18-13.  Mia Woodbury led in scoring with eight points followed closely by Addison Rump with six.  Jaycee Fullenkamp added four points and Maleena Bentley chipped in with two.  Both teams are 1-1 on the season.
