Stuart Blaine “Head” Westermeyer, 66, of Keokuk, IA died Monday, November 8, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, MO.

     He was born December 24, 1954 in Ft. Madison, IA the son of Eldon Duane and Gloria Ruth Thompson Westermeyer.  Stuart graduated from Central Lee High School with the class of 1973. 

     Stuart was first united in marriage to Tonya Adkins.  They later divorced.  He later married Liza Enke.  They divorced also.

     In his younger years, Stuart had been employed by City of Keokuk in the Bridge Maintenance Department.  He later worked for Huffman Welding and Machine Inc. in Ft. Madison, IA for thirty-five years.

     Stuart was a member of the Izaak Walton League.

     Stuart was just a good ole country boy who enjoyed fishing for catfish, deer hunting and horse racing.  He traveled for his work and had been to many places throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Egypt.  He enjoyed taking vacations to the Rocky Mountains and Colorado.  Stuart loved attending family reunions and playing horseshoes at the Purple Cow.

     He is survived by his significant other, Karen Hoenig of Farmington, IA, one daughter, Jodi Millard of West Point, IA,  two grandchildren, Erik and Lexy, one brother, Rocky Westermeyer (Mickie) of Montrose, IA, two nieces, Candy Hopp (Jason), and Jesse Mueller (Erik), two great-nephews, “Catfish” Jackson Mueller and Tyler Hopp and one great-niece Meghan Hopp.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother, Edna Thompson, one brother, Vince Westermeyer and several special friends.

     A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Montrose, IA with family meeting with friends at that time.
