Menke leads Little Hounds with 14

MOUNT PLEASANT - Owen Menke poured in 14 to lead Fort Madison's A team to a 43-20 win over Mt. Pleasant in 7th grade boys basketball Monday night.
Lucas Helmick had 10 points while Rowan Benda, Hunter Wiegand and William Scanlan each had half a dozen. Darius Foy rounded out the scoring with one point.
In the B game, the Little Hounds lost to the Panthers in a close one 21-18. Eythan Swearingen had 10 for Fort Madison and CJ Owens had six.
Fort Madison also lost the C game 14-8 lead by Lucius Zimmerman with four points.
Against Keokuk last week, the A team beat Keokuk 38-16. Menke had 12 in the win and Wiegand had 10. Helmick and Scanlan each had six, Foy had four and Benda chipped in with two for Fort Madison,.
The B team lost 18-13 behind Swearingen's nine points, but the C team wrapped up the night with a 12-9 win behind Carter Frank and DM Pena's four points each.
