YMCA holding Lifeguard Certification courses in December

FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison Family YMCA will hold a Lifeguard Certification Course with instructor Sara Mueller beginning Wednesday, December 8th for individuals who are interested in lifeguarding. Students must be 15 years of age or older by December 30th, 2021. Students will need to complete the 30 minute in-water pre-test on Wednesday, December 8th from 4pm-5pm, the online pre-test which must be completed by December 27th, in-person water and CPR/First Aid training classes held December 28th, 29th & 30th from 8:30am to 3:30pm, and a final test to achieve full certification.
Students are asked to bring photo ID/Proof of age, swimsuit, goggles, and a towel with them to the pre-test and classes. Those unable to attend the in-water pre-test on December 8th from 4-5pm may contact Sara Mueller directly at 319-721-4996 to schedule a time that works best for them.
