Ellis Lynn Conover, 74, of Burlington, IA died Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, IA.

He was born on May 16, 1947 in Warsaw, IL, the son of Harold Smith and Lelia Mae Mathes Conover.  He was a graduate of Warsaw High School Class of 1966.

Ellis was a barber at his shop called Ellis’s House of Hairstyle in Warsaw for twenty years.  He also worked as a Casino Dealer at Catfish Bend Casino for five years until his retirement.

He was a member at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Warsaw.

 Ellis was a member of the Warsaw Jaycees and the Warsaw Kiwanis Club and had served as a Past President of both service organizations.  He was also Past Master of the Warsaw Masonic Lodge. 

He enjoyed collecting Santa Claus figurines.  Ellis loved watching Pro-Wrestling and playing computer poker games.  In his younger years he enjoyed playing golf.

Ellis is survived by his ex-wife, Desiree Lea Rodgers of Burlington, and one stepson, David Graves of Burlington, five grandchildren, Angela, Brandon, Isaiah, Kaylee, and Sheala, and two great grandchildren, Lyric and Braxton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no services at this time. 

Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
