OCI's Ireland added to LCEDG board

MONTROSE - Lee County EDG has added a new board member, Charles Ireland, Operations Manager at OCI Iowa Fertilizer Co. 

Charles was born and raised in Lee County.

"I now have four kids and understand now more than ever that, as a community, we need to nourish what we have and build for the future," Ireland said.

"I want to bring a different perspective having gone through school locally, and advanced through a few of our local businesses. My opinion on economic sustainability is simple – Jobs, Jobs, Jobs." 

Ireland went to Southeastern Community College after high school to achieve his Associates of Science degree. After that, he went to Hannibal-LaGrange University for his BAS, then went to St. Ambrose for his MBA. He is currently employed at OCI Iowa Fertilizer as Operations Manager. 

Lee County EDG is excited to add another professional to our board. The Lee County EDG executive board consists of Scott Smith as Immediate Past Chair, Jenny Steffensmeier Board Chair, Michael Mohrfeld as Vice-Chair, and Bob Huffman Jr. as Treasurer.

The executive board serves one-year terms in their positions; however, board members serve three-year terms with the opportunity for reelection when their time is complete. 

Board Directors include Bryan Langerud, Mickey McHale, Jamie Baier, Shelby Dickens, Ashlee Spannagel, Susan Dunek, Phil Hecht, Pat McCrabb, Bob Holtkamp, Lee County Board of Supervisor Garry Seyb Jr., Lee County Board of Supervisor Rick Larkin, and Mike Norris as a representative from Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission.
